POLICE in Southampton are hunting two men who left a woman badly beaten after attacking her in the city centre late at night.
The victim was left with a wound to her upper body and serious facial bruising after the two hood-wearing attackers launched their late-night assault as the victim was walking home.
Three young men found the 46-year-old woman slumped by the side of the road in the area of Coates Roads and Bursledon Road and alerted the emergency services.
She was then take to Southampton General Hospital where she was treated for her injuries before later being discharged.
Detectives hunting the attackers say they do not know the reason the woman was assaulted, and have now appealed for anyone who saw the incident to get in touch.
Officers are also keen to speak to the three men who came to the woman's aid, as they believe they may have vital information that could help their inquiry.
