HAMPSHIRE children got a surprise when Wallace and Gromit dropped in to deliver a £10,000 cheque to Naomi House children's hospice.
The pair rolled into Winchester in their Wallace and Gromit mobile to greet the youngsters and promote this year's Wrong Trousers Day on June 29.
The much-needed money will go towards play equipment and activities that allow the children to express themselves, such as a sensory room.
The money was raised by the Wallace and Gromit Children's Foundation which works to support children's hospitals and hospices across the country.
This year's Wrong Trousers Day, called Get Your Kit On, invites members of the public to pay a pound and go to work or school wearing sporty wrong trousers' next month.
Jane Tabor, director of fundraising at Naomi House, said: "It was great fun seeing the cartoon characters Wallace and Gromit coming alive.
"All our children are life-limited, which means they are not going to grow up to be adults. We are here to provide crucial respite care to those children and their families and we just enjoy life playing around, making the most of every day that they are with us and giving them new experiences."
