A LEADING convenience store chain has joined the stampede by sponsoring a Zany Zebras sculpture.
This summer will see a herd of decorated zebra sculptures on the streets of Southampton as part of Marwell Wildlife’s art extravaganza.
Now the Co-operative Food chain has signed up to sponsor a zebra.
With over 2,800 stores across the UK, including nearly 40 convenience stores throughout Southampton, the Co-op is one of the UK’s leading operators of convenience stores.
Jo Shaw, divisional marketing manager, said: “We have chosen to support the Marwell’s Zany Zebras campaign as this is a great way to help our local community and schools, educating children about the importance of conservation and the environment.
”Southampton and Marwell Zoo will become the home to a herd of colourful zebra sculptures that will pop up across the city and wildlife park as part of a public art event that promises to create an unforgettable trail for families to enjoy.
Kirstie Mathieson, Project Manager for Marwell’s Zany Zebras said: “We are thrilled that Co-Operative Food has recognised the huge opportunity that Marwell’s Zany Zebras presents in showcasing their convenience stores to the hundreds of thousands of trail-goers.”
