Ferry services between Southampton and the Isle of Wight have been resumed following a suspension of crossings when a passenger became unwell.
Police on the Isle of Wight were called to help deal with the passenger who boarded the 3.30pm sailing from East Cowes on Thursday afternoon.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire police said the ferry staff were trying to deal with a "passenger who has become unwell" and said the delay was due to a "non-injury incident".
The loaded vessel was unable to leave the East Cowes port, which forced a ferry due to leave Southampton to delay its departure by more than two hours.
The service has now been resumed and a Red Funnel spokesperson has said they are trying to get the ferry crossings back on schedule as soon as possible.
