A HAMPSHIRE student is flying to the US for a life-saving operation on her brain.
Meg Jones, 21, from Kings Somborne will jet off to a hospital in Boston for pioneering surgery to remove a brain tumour.
The Warwick University student was diagnosed with the tumour when she was 18.
Her mum Helen Bulbeck raised £50,000 for the operation, which is currently not available in the UK and set up the Braintrust charity to help other sufferers from the condition.
Meg will fly out on Monday and has had permission to miss final year exams in her art history degree so she can have the treatment.
"It's funny because I've gone through moments when I'm absolutely terrified, but I've been waiting for it for a long time and I feel completely ready for it now," she said.
