POLICE are hunting two thieves who broke into the warden-controlled flat of an 85-year-old Hampshire man.
The pensioner discovered the intruders in his North Baddesley home at about 4pm last Friday, but officers have only now released details of the incident.
The man was in the first-floor bedroom of his flat in Gainsborough Court, Willis Avenue, when he turned to find a stranger behind him.
When the pensioner shouted out the raider ran towards the front door, but the victim then noticed another man in his living room. Both men fled the scene, walking off in the direction of Fleming Avenue and Rownhams Road.
Afterwards the pensioner discovered that his wallet and money were missing.
Police are now searching for the two men, who are both described as white and in their late teens or early 20s.
Telephone Romsey police station on 0845 045 4545, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
