A NEW lottery was officially unveiled yesterday to help charities and job creation in the SO post code area.

As reported in the Daily Echo, SOlotto will officially begin on April 11 with the aim to put money back into the local community.

An online lottery and scratch cards will be run on a weekly basis, after 5,000 people have signed up.

Players will have the chance to win cash prizes of up to £50,000.

Trevor Thorne, who is launching the lottery as part of the company Fab For Marketing, said: “SOlotto can help to eliminate problems in the community that the council don’t have the funds to sort out themselves. We want to help regenerative the Southampton economy and help people, even if just in a small way.”

Lottery organisers want to give 70 per cent from every scratch card and 60 per cent from every SOlotto Online entry to the winners, sellers and good causes in the area.
