IT WAS a sight to stop traffic as a fleet of balloon-covered taxis took to Hampshire’s roads.
The cars had been decorated ready to escort 15 families to Beaulieu for a special day out at the National Motor Museum.
The event for the families who have been affected by cancer was organised by the Joe Glover Trust and Southampton taxi firm West Quay Cars.
The families, who are supported by the charity, met at Southampton’s Guildhall Square where they were treated to breakfast before getting a police escort all the way to the museum in the heart of the New Forest.
The Joe Glover Trust, which is based in Colden Common, provides support and care to children, young people and their families who are being treated for cancer with the aim of improving the quality of their life as much as possible.
The trust was formed in memory of eight year-old Joe Glover, who died from a rare form of cancer 10 years ago.
