Empty warehouse could be turned into care home
AN empty warehouse on the outskirts of Southampton could be transformed into an 80-bed care home.
Castleoak wants to redevelop Hamilton House, off Mansbridge Road near Townhill Park.
Plans for the three-storey building have been submitted to Eastleigh Borough Council after 18 months of negotiations.
The home would provide 24-hour care and en-suite bathrooms for all residents.
Planning agents Strutt and Parker said: "This scheme will provide a much-needed facility in the local area for older people with heavily dependent nursing and dementia needs and will be designed and built to Castleoak’s demanding specifications."
Consultation ends on April 22.
