HAMPSHIRE was invaded by the Daleks at the weekend – but Doctor Who materialised in time to defeat his infamous foes.
Thousands of people travelled through time and space to visit a two-day event held at the Winchester Science Centre, which paid homage to the celebrated television Time Lord.
The event was organised by charity Dalek Squad, a group of enthusiasts who build and operate life-sized Daleks.
They tour the country, entertaining huge crowds and raising money for good causes at the same time.
Guests included Salisbury-born actor John Levene, 74, who was Sergeant Benton of UNIT when Jon Pertwee played the Doctor in the early 1970s Doctor Who episodes.
Fans also had a chance to meet Jon Davey, a “creature actor” who has played Daleks, Cybermen and other monsters in almost 40 episodes of the long-running sci-fi drama.
Also there was Matthew Dale, who played Big John in the episode Robot of Sherwood alongside the latest Doctor, Peter Capaldi.
