POLICE have arrested six people after a six-day series of drugs raids in Hampshire.

Officers carried out the five-day operation in Winchester to target suspected drug dealers as part of the ongoing Operation Fortress campaign.

In total 14 people across the city were searched.

On April 4, a 15-year-old boy from London was arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs and an 18-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug and money laundering.

On March 8 on Water Lane a 16-year-old, a 24-year-old and a 19-year-old from London were arrested on suspicion of supplying class drugs, along with a 23-year-old man from Middlesex.

Chief Inspector Claire Taylor said: “One of our aims is to make life as unpleasant as possible for those people suspected of being involved in drug dealing and crimes linked to drugs.

“These days of action saw officers from Winchester District out and about in the city disrupting those suspecting of being involved in the supply of Class A drugs.

“We’re committed to freeing our communities of drugs and the misery drugs bring and we will continue carrying out these types of operations.

“If you have any information about drugs in your community, please contact us; the more we know, the more we can do about it.”

Anyone with information on the supply of drugs is asked to call Hampshire Police on 101.
