AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after fake £50 notes were used in Hampshire pubs.
Police were called after a man attempted to use the counterfeit note in the Eagle Inn on Duck Street, Abbotts Ann, at about 2.50pm on Thursday, April 7.
The note was not accepted and the man walked off.
He was described as being white, of average build with brown short curly hair.
Officers are investigating this incident as part of ongoing inquiries into a spate of fake £50 notes being used in retail stores and pubs in the area.
