A PENSIONER was trapped in her car after a crash involving a bus.

The single decker Stagecoach service collided with a blue Honda Jazz on the A3090 Standon Main Road, near Hursley, near St Mark’s Church blocking the road in both directions for more than an hour-and-a-half.

The 86-year-old driving the car was suffering from chest pains and was trapped in her, unable to open the door.

She was cut free by firefighters and taken to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.

The other person in the car was not injured.

The bus driver was treated at the scene for shock but did not need hospital treatment.

The operator has confirmed there were no passengers on the bus at the time, but it is not known whether it was in service or not.

A Stagecoach spokesperson said both vehicles had been damaged but could not say to what extent.

“The road was blocked for around an hour and the incident is still being investigated,” she said.
