A LANDSLIDE is causing delays for rail passengers.
Rail operator South West Trains is having to put on bus replacement services and in some cases cancelling trains after the landslip occurred between Alton and Farnham in Surrey.
A spokesman for South West Trains said disruption is expected until next Tuesday.
They said: “The line between Alton and Farnham has now closed as of 9pm on Wednesday April 13 to allow work to be carried out to repair the embankment.
“Replacement bus services will run between Farnham and Alton in both directions providing a service between Farnham, Bentley and Alton.”
But they added that due to their size buses will not be able to serve Bentley station, but will have to stop in the village to pick-up and drop off passengers.
Buses towards Alton will stop outside the Memorial Hall, while those going towards Farnham will stop outside the Star Inn.
