A CONCERT by rock legends The Who at the Rose Bowl, West End, tonight will go ahead as planned despite reports that lead singer Roger Daltry had been suffering from a sore throat.
Last night Daltry and Pete Townsend had been due to star on Jools Holland's BBC TV show. But they had to cancel their appearance because Holland said that Daltry had a sore throat.
It triggered off a flurry of telephone calls to the Rose Bowl from Who fans who had paid from £45 upwards to see their rock heroes.
The Who are stopping off at West End as part of a world tour which takes in 14 countries and 28 cities.
Early today the Rose Bowl switchboard was red hot with inquires from fans.
A spokesperson said: "We have taken lots of calls but as far as we know the concert is still going on."
