POLICE have charged a teenager after a knife incident forced a school to go into lockdown.
Officers were called to Regents Park Community College yesterday after reports of a teenager threatening to harm himself with a knife.
Witnesses said a large number of police officers were at the scene to deal with the incident.
A teenager, who is not a student at the school, was apprehended at the scene by police.
Hampshire Constabulary have now charged a 16-year-old boy with two counts of possession of a bladed article on school premises.
He will appear at Southampton Magistrates Youth Court later this month.
