SHE IS known for her love of animals.

With thousands of people across the country celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday – Hampshire’s pets have decided to chime in.

From quaint little street parties with bunting and Victoria sponge, to colourful parades along the streets. you may have thought the Queen had seen it all when it comes to her birthday celebrations.

But today Blue Cross has unveiled a unique tribute to the animal-loving Queen to wish her many happy returns.

They have produced the world’s first all-animal rendition of Happy Birthday, made with the help of some of the pets at the leading pet charity’s rehoming centre in Southampton.

In the 90 years since Queen Elizabeth’s birth – or roughly 500 ‘dog years’ - the Blue Cross has helped thousands of pets find new homes, and today a handful of those pets including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses and chinchillas, contributed to the one-of-a-kind track, especially created for Her Majesty’s big day.

The menagerie of sounds were recorded by the pets at the Blue Cross rehoming centres across the country, and then remixed into the familiar song.

Mary, a one-year-old Staffie cross Blue Cross dog visited Buckingham Palace with a birthday card ahead of the Queen’s 90th birthday.

The recordings star Blue Cross pets who are seeking new homes.

Danielle Mason, Southampton Blue Cross rehoming centre Manager, said: “From corgis to horses, we know that the Queen loves being surrounded by animals, so we wanted to mark her 90th year by creating this version of Happy Birthday, featuring so many of our wonderful pets who are seeking new homes.”
