A MAJOR makeover will brighten up the lives of hundreds of pensioners living in care homes across Hampshire.
In a bid to put dignity and respect at the heart of care for the elderly, the £1.3m has been pledged for refurbishments to homes.
Bathrooms, showers and toilets will be upgraded at 121 care facilities, along with improvements to gardens and outside spaces used by residents.
The money has been made available as part of the Government's dignity campaign, which aims to improve conditions for old people living in county council care and is providing a cash boost to local authorities.
