A MAN has been charged after an alleged stabbing.

Two women were also arrested in connection with the incident, after emergency services were called to Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth at 8.44pm on Wednesday night.

A force spokesman said that officers, along with an ambulance crew, found a man with stab wounds at a flat in St Ledger’s Place.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

He did not suffer any internal injuries, a force spokesperson confirmed.

Police believe a knife was used.

A 26-year-old man has been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and will appear at Bournemouth Magistrates Court this morning.

A 45-year-old woman and a 30-year-old woman, both of Bournemouth, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They have been released on bail pending further enquiries until the middle of May.

Resident Joao Carlos, 53, said he saw a hive of activity after he returned home from work around 9.30pm.

"When I got home there were lots of police cars," he said.

"My wife arrived first and she said she saw the ambulance in the area. One [police] car was here this morning as well.

"I asked the policeman who came here last night what happened but he only said 'you're safe'."
