A ROBBERY victim is being urged to come forward to help his attacker face justice.

Officers from Hampshire police want the victim of a mugging to contact them after he was knocked to the ground in a vicious attack.

A witness saw a man being attacked and robbed near where a path, known locally as the ‘black pipe’, joins Stockheath Lane in Havant.

They say the man was in his 20s and around 6ft tall, slim and wearing ripped jeans. He was being attacked by two men and ended up on the ground in the road causing several cars to go around the incident at around 4.15pm on Thursday, April 21.

A woman, believed to be in her 60s, helped the man who told them he had had his money taken.

He eventually walked off and did not report what had happened to the police.

The two attackers are said to be at least 30 years old and white.

A spokesman for Hampshire police said: “Officers are now appealing for the victim to get in contact with them and also any of the other witnesses such as the woman who helped or any of the people in the cars that drove around the incident.”

They are asked to call PC David Knight-Smith based at Waterlooville Police Station on 101.

Witnesses can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 if they prefer.
