HOMES were left without internet connection when a car ploughed into a telecommunications box.
The driver lost control of the vehicle in Fair Oak Road, Fair Oak, at 11pm last night and smashed into a unit belonging to BT Openreach.
Crews from Eastleigh fire station were called to the scene but the driver climbed out of the vehicle unaided and was unharmed.
Engineers from BT were called out to fix the box but it is not known when service was restored to homes.
Emergency services left the scene at 11.30pm.
