TRAVIS, The Twang and The Hoosiers will play this year's Power Amped gig, it was announced today.

Up and coming indie rockers The Twang appeared on Power FM's breakfast show today to launch the free gig, which is set to take place at Southampton Guildhall on Friday July 6.

The Power Amped gigs, which replace Power in the Park, are part of a project to bring more exclusive, more intimate concerts to the South Coast.

More than 1700 tickets will be won in the run up to the gig.

With two Brit Awards under their belt and international success with five top ten albums, Travis will headline at Power Amped 3 with hot new bands The Twang and the Hoosiers.

Travis is made up of Fran Healy, Dougie Payne, Andy Dunlop and Neil Primrose. Their hits have included Why Does It Always Rain on Me and Sing.

The Twang, a Birmingham fivesome, hit the scene late in 2006 and released their debut single Either Way last month.

The Hoosiers, who hail from Reading and Sweden, are a three-who perform what they call odd pop.

Their debut single Worried About Ray is set for release later this month.
