SCORES of runners battled the heat to complete an annual 5km run around Bishop's Waltham for local good causes.
More than 100 runners from clubs across Hampshire and the southern counties made the long uphill climb through Upper Swanmore before descending to the quiet country lanes of Dundridge.
There was also a shorter two-mile course which attracted athletes of all ages and abilities with a fancy dress category.
The event was organised by the Rotary Club with help from the police, fire service and Scouts.
Cash raised by the event is destined for local charities and, in the past, substantial donations have been made to many deserving causes in the community.
