A small amount of rain couldn't dampen the mood at the Isle of Wight festival.
Thousands of revellers enjoyed the first official day of the festival with huge acts taking to the stages.

The festival's main stage was opened for the first time with Faithless headlining the first day.
Maxxi Jazz from Faithless had already performed in front of the crowd on Thursday and got the chance to play to an even bigger audience on the main stage.
But before the main event, Busted brought the nostalgia home with a set of new songs and early 2000 anthems.
The crowd went wild when they played classics such as Year 3000 and What I Go to School For.
Jess Glynn also rocked the main stage with crowd pleaders like No Place I'd Rather Be and Take Me Home before Everything Everything took over for a action packed set.
Then it was up to Sterophonics to rock out the main stage before Faithless took over.
Away from the main stage in the Big Top, Sigma performed a live dance set and Blossoms and Joanne Shaw Taylor also played.
The clouds did break during the evening and light drizzle fell on the revellers, but it soon passed and couldn't dampen festival goers enjoyment.
As well as the music Stand Up to Cancer brought an actual beach to the festival which will see Zumba classes and Bear Grylls style survival classes.
All the money raised from the beach will go to the charity, part of Cancer Research UK, the festival's official charity partner.
As well as the headline acts smaller bands and artists got the chance to show off their talent.
Jack Francis, a singer song writer from Hedge End, performed at the festival after becoming a finalist of the Live and Unsigned contest.
The 25-year-old brought a blend of folk, soul and blues to the Isle of Wight festival's Hey Joe stage.
He said: "The show was really good there was quite a few people there and they really seemed to enjoy it.
"I have been coming to the Isle of Wight festival since 2008 and I come every year so I am a regular.
"I am looking forward to seeing a band called Little Comets as well and the Who and Sterophonics."
The festival continues all weekend with The Who headlining the main stage on Saturday
