A FIVE-year-old boy was threatened with a knife as he sat in the back of a car at traffic lights.
The youngster was travelling with his 34-year-old mum in a red Rover Metro when two youths approached the car.
One of the pair, who was carrying a small bladed knife similar to a craft knife, then leant through the back window and threatened the boy.
Both of the youths then walked off from the car which was waiting at the junction of Anglesea Road, Shirley High Street and Romsey Road in Shirley, Southampton.
The first youth, who was carrying the knife, is described as approximately 5ft 4ins tall, aged between 10 and 12 years, with blonde hair, styled in a spiky crew cut which was shaved at the back.
He was wearing a red micro fleece jacket with different coloured stripes down the sleeves and blue jeans. The second boy was around 5ft 5ins tall, slightly older than the first youth, with mousey blond hair which was long on top but shorter at the sides. He was very thin and wearing a horizontal striped black and white top and dark blue jeans.
Anyone with any information about the incident on June 15 at 6pm is asked to contact PC Tony Browne at Shirley police station on 0845 045 45 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
