More than 160 people attended a property seminar in Fareham organised by Spofforths, one of the largest regional firms of chartered accountants. The event attracted record numbers for a buy-to-let event and shows the growing interest in this attractive market.
Spofforths ' specialists were joined by co-sponsor letting specialist Leaders and local solicitors Dutton Gregory. The Spofforths team - Philip Wise and Stuart Maggs - outlined investment opportunities and buy-to-lets tax issues for landlords. Leaders' Neal Ball discussed the lettings potential of the buy-to-let market and Robert Bolwell, of Dutton Gregory, highlighted the risks presented by the tenancy deposit protection scheme.
Stuart Maggs said "This event - at the Solent Hotel in Fareham - is the latest is a series of buy-to-let property seminars organised by Spofforths. Two have been based in Brighton, one in Redhill, a further one is being planned for early autumn."
