A TEENAGER managed to scare two burglars from her Eastleigh home after she heard the pair breaking in through a back door.
The 15-year-old told police she had been in her bedroom when she heard the doorbell ring several times at her Cranbury Road house.
She said as she was not expecting anyone she did not bother answering it but after hearing her dog bark at the rear of the property she looked out to see two youths enter the property.
The youngster said she could hear the two men in the living room and the kitchen, so started making some noise upstairs to scare them off.
They then left the house with her dog following them, and when she went downstairs found a man and a woman at her front door with the dog.
Detectives say they do not believe anything was taken from the house during the burglary on Tuesday afternoon.
The suspects are both described as aged about 15 and were both wearing tracksuits and baseball caps.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed two youths in the area, shortly after 2.15pm, acting suspiciously to come forward, and want to speak to the man and woman who returned the dog following the incident.
Anyone with information should contact Eastleigh police station on 0845 045 4545.
