WINCHESTER Race for Life gets under way on Sunday with more than 2,200 women are set to take part in the 5km challenge.
They will be helping to raise more than £250,000 for Cancer Research UK. Supernurse Anne Croudass, who is fronting the Daily Echobacked Do It for Anne campaign, will start the event at 11am.
Cancer touches so many lives and many of the women taking part will be running in memory of loved ones or celebrating the lives of those who have survived.
Participants will follow a course that takes in North Walls Recreation Grounds and River Park.
Race organiser Hannah Davies, said: "Thank you to everyone taking part on Sunday. We really are grateful for your support. I hope you have a great day!
"It is wonderful that the ladies of Winchester are really getting behind Race for Life for the fourth year, to remember and celebrate their loved ones and those touched by cancer, while also helping us to raise over £250,000 for vital cancer research.
"I would urge every woman to get their sponsorship money in as soon as possible after the Race as this really does make such a difference to the work of our 3,500 scientists, doctors and nurses across the UK.
"I wish everyone a fantastic, safe and successful Race for Life and see you Sunday."
