TODAY is the day hundreds of students have been waiting for.
The Global Rock Challenge kicks-off tonight at the O2 Guildhall Southampton, where more than 30 Hampshire schools and colleges will battle it out to be crowned kings and queens of the dancefloor.
The Daily Echo’s website will be up to date with pictures of the performances and each night a special souvenir copy of the Daily Echo will be on sale at the Guildhall featuring the local Rock Challenge teams participating that night.
Students, who have been practising for months, will perform in six bumper shows. Youngsters have prepared five to eight-minutes performances to wow judges and will be marked on their performance, production and drama and design skills.
Winners from each night will perform again at the Southern finals at Portsmouth Guildhall in April, when the champions will be named.
Organised by Be Your Best Foundation, the event aims to encourage young people to lead healthy lifestyles.
