HE IS one of Britain’s most controversial politicians who led the country to historical change.
Now Nigel Farage is heading to Hampshire to meet residents and answer their questions.
The man now known as Mr Brexit will be at The Concorde Club in Eastleigh on May 14 to give people a chance to spend an evening with him.
Farage will welcome people in the Concorde garden marquee from 8pm and will answer questions later on in the evening.
Tickets for the evening at the club - which has the slogan Dine - Dance - Dream - are priced from £28 to £63 including dinner.
Jamie Mathieson, manager at The Concorde Club, said: “We thought it would be of interest for people to meet him. You can love him or loath him but you can’t deny he has changed the political landscape.
“It will be interesting to hear his side, what he believes in and see what he answers to people who are against him”, Mr Mathieson said.
One third of the tickets were sold in the hours after they were put on sale.
“The response we had when we put the tickets online was very good. Judging by sales I think it will be a sold out event or at least a very busy one.
"It’s an opportunity to ask questions you always wanted to ask, so it is definitively appealing people,” Mr Mathieson said.
Farage will return to his political roots after he contested the Eastleigh by-election in 1994. That was UKIP’s first electoral fight and Farage beat Screaming Lord Sutch by 169 votes.
At the time Farage was at the early stage of his political career after he gave up his job as business man to become a founding member of the UK Independence Party and campaign against Britain’s membership of the EU.
After the Brexit referendum he declared victory and described June 23, 2016 as the country’s independence day.
He then resigned as Ukip leader on July, saying: “I have done my bit. Now I want my life back.”
But whether before or after Brexit, the 52-year-old, who has been an MEP for the south east since 1999, has always been in the spotlight.
He supported Donald Trump in his campaign and met him at the Trump Tower in New York after he became the US President.
