Firefighters tackled a house blaze in Kings Worthy, near Winchester.
The fire broke out on the ground floor of a house in Springvale Road.
Three engines, from Winchester and Eastleigh, were at the scene after being called at 1pm.
It is thought the house was empty at the time and the alrm was raised by neighbours who heard the smoke alarm going off.
