HE is top of the class when it comes to head teachers after scooping a prestigious national teaching award.
Hundreds of pupils from Redlands Primary School and their parents got the chance to celebrate the huge success of their head teacher, Kevin Harcombe.
Mr Harcombe has transformed the Fareham school since arriving in 2000 and all this hard work has been recognised with the announcement that he has been named South England primary head teacher of the year.
He said: "I was very surprised to win the award. I think the secret of my success is surrounding myself with very good staff who do a wonderful job."
He will now go on to the national ceremony held in London in October.
