A HAMPSHIRE pub was evacuated after a hoax bomb threat was made.
Police confirmed that they received a call from a man saying he had placed a bomb at the Popinjay pub in Popley, Basingstoke, and was going to set it off.
The premises was evacuated while a search took place at 8.44pm on Sunday.
Police added nothing suspicious was found and any threat to the public was quickly eliminated.
A spokesman said enquiries are ongoing into the source of the call, which is being treated as a hoax.
