Award-winning construction firm Amiri is lightening the load when it comes to self-contained bathroom pods.
The Fareham-based firm has developed and manufactured the innovative and bespoke-designed units for use in industrial and commercial warehouses.
The first toilet pods' have been built at Voyager Park in Portsmouth and delivered to a SERGO (Sloough Estates Group) project in Feltham, Middlesex.
Dave Gee, of Amiri, said: "Our pods are truly innovative as they provide flexibility for any developer who may be in the position of sub-dividing their space and needing extra bathrooms and quickly.
"We manufacture the amenity pods offsite and then come along and literally crane into place everything - including the bathroom sink!
"Although it sounds like a bit of fun, the pods were developed as a solution to assist SERGO with their desire to market much more flexible business space and now offers a great deal of benefit in terms of time, cost and quality."
Amiri Construction, which is now in its third year of trading, has just celebrated a second-year turnover of £10.8 million.
It employs 23 staff at its Wickham Road headquarters and works in a range of sectors across the southern region including health, education, residential, industrial and commercial.
