A CHILDREN'S charity is looking for women in Hampshire to dust off their wedding dresses and give them one more airing as part of National Wedding Dress Day on Friday, August 17, to raise money for children with motor disorders, including cerebral palsy.
The Rainbow Centre, based in Fareham, is encouraging brides to wear their wedding dresses for the day; wear it to collect the kids from school; to work or simply invite some friends round and have a brides' tea party.
"The idea is simple," said Helen Somerset How, appeals director at the Centre.
"Put on your dress and ask friends and family to sponsor you for how long you can go about your daily chores. Grooms needn't feel left out, just pull on your wedding suit and off you go!
"National Wedding Dress Day is a great opportunity to get another day out of an outfit that may otherwise stay packed away. You could just get all your friends together and celebrate looking gorgeous."
The initiative is in conjunction with Take A Break magazine and for more information or to make a donation to help the Rainbow Centre, call Julie on 01329 289500 or visit www.rainbowcentre.org.
