LOOKING poised and oh so grown-up in front of the camera, Stacey Bean, felt really special when she turned up for her school prom.

Dressed in a beautiful monochrome gown and sporting a swish new hairstyle, Stacey and her friend Courtney Weston looked just perfect - and they arrived in considerable style in their limo.

The 16-year-old Millbrook Community School pupil from Lordshill had spent months preparing for her big night.

And the event at Chilworth Hilton Hotel did not disappoint.

"We had a really great evening. It was quite emotional - one girl started crying at the end and that set us all off.

"We danced until midnight and had a really good time.

"It might be the last time I see some of the people from my year so it was a great way to say goodbye," she said.

The lucky pair had been pampered, dressed and delivered to their prom as part of their Daily Echo prize.

Stacey had her hair and make-up done at Haringtons and the teenager admitted she was a little bit worried about the St Tropez tan.

"I was a bit nervous at first but it was fine," she said.

With her hair piled high and her make-up expertly applied, Stacey went home to finish the preparations. She put on the gown she had chosen from Fabfrocks in Westbourne and the accessories, - her shoes, bag and jewellery - were from John Lewis at WestQuay.

"I felt really good when I was ready - and my mum was pleased too," she said.

Don't miss the Daily Echo proms special on July 18.
