STREETS in Winchester and on the Isle of Wight are among the cleanest in the UK, a new study has found.
Just two per cent of roads on the Island and 2.2 per cent in Winchester were assessed as having combined deposits of litter and debris, according to a report by public sector union GMB, based on Audit Commission figures for the year 2005/6.
They were among the 20 cleanest areas in England, Scotland and Wales, the report said.
