A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of producing explosives after police and a bomb squad rushed to a Southampton home.
Officers rushed to The Grove, in Sholing, after being alerted to fears over chemicals.
As well as police officers, a team from the military’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team were called to the address.
Residents of the house were evacuated while police carried out their investigations.
Now police have revealed that a 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of producing explosives following the discovery of a number of chemicals at the home.
Officers says at this stage it is not believed the incident is connected with terrorism or domestic extremism.
The drama began shortly before 10am yesterday
