TEACHERS at a Hampshire nursery are celebrating after Ofsted gave them an “outstanding” grade.

The staff at Parkview Playgroup in Chandler’s Ford were told they were “outstanding” across the board.

It comes just months after they were told in a previous inspection that the Hiltingbury Road group required improvement in quality and standards, leadership, and personal development of the youngsters they look after.

Supervisor Sandra Everatt said the turnaround was an “amazing achievement”.

She said: “The previous result was due to paperwork issues. Staff and committee have worked extremely hard to achieve the outstanding which we all knew Parkview deserved. We are surrounded by the most amazing staff and families who have stood by us, we are so thankful to everyone and can now celebrate this amazing achievement.”

The new report said: “Staff provide an inspirational learning environment with rich and stimulating play areas and resources which fully ignite children’s interest. Children show deep levels of sustained play and learning, and make excellent developmental progress in all areas. “

It added the “experienced supervisor expertly leads a staff team” with “strong levels of enthusiasm”.
