A SOUTHAMPTON man has told the heartbreaking story of how he lost his wife to cancer as one of her last wishes was fulfilled by seeing her garden transformed.
Antonio Jordan opened up to TV presenter Alan Titchmarsh after he lost his wife Shelley-Ann to cancer last year at the age of 39.
Antonio was seeing his garden transformed on television show Love Your Garden, fulfilling one of Shelley-Ann’s final wishes.
Wanting a garden for the family to enjoy, Antonio told his story after being surprised by a knock at the door by the film crew.
He said: “She had always wanted a nice home and that included a nice garden.
“In one of her wishes she had put down that she would like a nice wooden swing in the garden, so that she is still about and in the garden.”
Antonio is now bringing up son Tyler, 17 and Amelia, 12, as a single parent.
Alan said: “It’s clear that Tony [Antonio] still feels Shelley’s loss very keenly but if we can do this garden well, then we might just help them a little bit to move on.”
