CONSTRUCTION firm Amiri is flush with success after creating self-contained toilet "pods".

The Fareham-based builders has developed and manufactured the innovative loos for use in industrial and commercial warehouses.

The first toilet pods have been built at Voyager Park in Portsmouth and delivered to a SEGRO (Slough Estates Group) project in Feltham, Middlesex.

Dave Gee, of Amiri, said: "Our pods are truly innovative as they provide flexibility for any developer who may be in the position of sub-dividing their space and needing extra bathrooms and quickly.

"We manufacture the amenity pods offsite and then come along and literally crane into place everything - including the bathroom sink!

"Although it sounds like a bit of fun, the pods were developed as a solution to assist SEGRO with their desire to market much more flexible business space and now offers a great deal of benefit in terms of time, cost and quality."

Amiri Construction, which is now in its third year of trading, has just celebrated a second-year turnover of £10.8m.

It employs 23 staff at its Wickham Road headquarters and works in a range of sectors across the southern region including health, education, residential, industrial and commercial.
