TEN kittens which had been given refuge at Fair Oak's St Francis Welfare Shelter have all been found new homes - thanks to Daily Echo readers.
After reading the Daily Echo story, Steve and Claire Barney of Fair Oak, and their daughter Emma, 16, adopted two of the last kittens.
Emma - one half of the up-and-coming singing duo Emma and Jack - has been so taken with St Francis Animal Welfare and its work that she has agreed to perform with Jack on the shelter's autumn open day on September 2.
Emma said "I really wanted to support St Francis and all the hard work they do, looking after unwanted animals. Jack and I are really looking forward to performing here on their open day."
St Francis are still looking for more entertainers for its open day, as well as for future events.
Whether you are a face-painter, musician, juggler, belly-dancer or magician, if you can offer your support to St Francis call admin manager Wendy Clinton on 07828 181485 or wendy.clinton@sfaw.co.uk.
