AN armed robber escaped with £1,000 after holding up a Hampshire McDonald's.
The man burst through a back door at the restaurant in West Street, Fareham, and threatened staff with a gun.
He demanded money from a safe and ran off from the back of the building.
The robbery took place at about 9.45pm last night.
The robber is described as white, about 5ft 5in and slim. He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a cream hooded top, white trainers with a blue stripe and a blue balaclava Detective Constable Geoff Pike, of Fareham CID, said: "Crime scene investigators have carried out a detailed examination of the premises and we've taken statements from numerous witnesses.
"We're now in the process of examining CCTV from the area at the time of the robbery. We'd urgently like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who saw the man near the premises or who has any other information."
