A TEAM of pupils from Hedge End's Wildern School have set off on a dream trip to the Arctic Circle.
It was their prize for winning a national schools competition called Ice Edge, organised by Edge, the educational foundation promoting practical and vocational learning.
Students were given a chance to win the adventure of a lifetime in the Arctic by getting them to think about practical solutions to environmental problems that affect us all.
Calling themselves Nature's Angels the Wildern team were the south east winners of the Ice Edge competition.
Team members Michele Dorrington, Ellouise Marsh, Natalie Sutton and Tom Channell, pictured above, are now in Svalbard, a group of Norwegian islands located at the edge of the Arctic Ocean.
They are currently sailing north to the pack ice and will be visiting Krossfjord Glacier and Virgehamber, a 17th century whaling station.
The competition winners will also visit the University Centre in Svalbard where they will meet scientists and students from across the world.
