A 30-year-old motorcyclist has died after a collision with a lorry near Southampton Container Port.
The rider is believed to have lost control of his bike and fallen off as he was travelling along Western Avenue.
Both the rider and the bike slid across the carriageway and collided with a blue container lorry that was being driven by a 37-year-old man from Romsey that was travelling in the opposite direction.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet released his name as not all next of kin have been informed.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident that happened on Friday at 7.23pm.
Roads policing officers at Totton are investigating the circumstances of the fatal crash.
