DETECTIVES investigating a robbery at a Fareham fast food restaurant have arrested a man from Portsmouth.
The 26 year-old was arrested on yesterday and has been bailed until September 25 pending further inquiries.
The robbery took place at around 9.45pm at McDonalds, West Street, on Tuesday July 17.
A masked man made off with takings from a safe after holding staff at gunpoint.
McDonalds staff were not hurt but they were shaken by the ordeal and were offered counselling by the company.
Detectives have been sifting through closed circuit TV footage from the West Street area around the shop to build up a picture of the movements of the robber who burst into an office through a back door.
Armed with a gun, he threatened staff and demanded money from the safe.
He then fled with about £1,000 in cash, making his escape out of the back of the restaurant.
