CHRISTMAS hit Winchester yesterday as the historic city was dazzled with the festive lights.
Karaoke, dance groups and choirs all hit the streets to welcome the festive season in the evening.
Harestock Primary School Choir took part alongside The Pilgrims’ School in the lead up to the lights.
Thousands turned out to welcome the Christmas period, which in turn attracts thousands more to the city for the holidays.
Popular Big Issue seller Kevin Collick had the honours of turning the lights on, dressed as a Christmas tree following an online campaign.
The next festive features open on Monday, including the markets and the city’s ice rink.
