A SOUTHAMPTON man has been made to pay more than £1,000 after he threatened a traffic warden with a metal pole.
Philip Sam, 25, of Middle Street, was carrying the offensive weapon on May 18 on the same street, and assaulted the warden.
Sam was found guilty of the offences and was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, and ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and was made subject to a 9pm to 6am curfew.
He was ordered to pay £406 compensation, £115 victim surcharge and £620 costs.
