A HAMPSHIRE man died after the motorcycle he was riding was in collision with an ambulance.
The Mercedes ambulance, carrying two passengers, was joining Saxon Way in Andover, when the crash happened at 1.22pm yesterday.
The 21-year-old rider of the blue Suzuki motorcycle, who was from Andover, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke where he later died.
His 18-year-old passenger, also from Andover, suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
The ambulance driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to North Hampshire Hospital for treatment.
Neither of the ambulance passengers - a 79-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man, both from Andover - was injured in the crash.
A police spokesman said: "The ambulance was conveying a patient to hospital following an emergency call.
"Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing to anyone who saw the collision itself or either of the vehicles prior to it to get in touch."
