WITH every step they raised hundreds of pounds in memory of a popular grandmother who spent her final years helping other cancer victims as she battled the disease herself.
Together a total of 151 family and friends of Denise Dee' Mason raised an impressive £10,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support through their sponsored walk.
They all took part in the Macmillan Walk, in Nomansland, and organisers hope it will become an annual event for many years to come in memory of Dee, who lived in Totton and who died last year.
Many of the fundraisers met to mark their fundraising achievements at The Lamb Inn in Nomansland, where Dee's son Lee works and where the fundraisers ended their walk.
Family friend Teresa Moriarty, pictured holding the comma, helped to organise the fundraiser after Dee herself raised thousands of pounds for the charity while fighting cancer of the lymphatic system for nine years.
